Bishkek, May 3, 2023. / Kabar /. 6 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were evacuated from Sudan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Against the backdrop of ongoing hostilities in Sudan, as a result of the joint efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Diplomatic Representation of the Russian Federation in Khartoum, 6 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were evacuated from Sudan along the route Khartoum - Moscow on May 2, 2023, the report said.
It also said that upon arrival of the evacuation flight in Moscow, organized by the government of the Russian Federation, the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were met by employees of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Moscow and placed in a hotel. On May 3, 2023, the diplomatic mission of Kyrgyzstan provided assistance in seeing the Kyrgyz citizens to the airport and chek-in for a flight on the Moscow-Bishkek route.
The Kyrgyz side expresses its gratitude to the Russian side for the assistance provided in the successful evacuation of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic from the Republic of Sudan, the ministry said.
To date, in connection with the ongoing armed clashes between the regular army and the rapid reaction forces in Sudan, 7 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were also previously evacuated from the territory of this state, 3 of whom worked at the UN Office in Khartoum.
