Bishkek, May 17, 2020. /Kabar/. 65 law enforcement officers nationwide have contracted COVID-19 coronavirus infection, Nurbolot Usenbayev, Chief Sanitary Doctor and Deputy Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan told Sunday.
According to him, militiamen are at risk as medics and truckers, and are closely monitored.
"At present, all infected militiamen are in hospitals and receiving appropriate treatment", Usenbayev said.
As of May 17, Kyrgyzstan has reported 21 new cases of coronavirus infection, bringing the total to 1,138, including 251 cases among medical workers.
A total of 804 patients have cured and discharged from hospitals, 14 have passed away.
