Bishkek, Oct. 01, 2018. /Kabar/. A campaign entitled “70 days till the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights” was launched in Kyrgyzstan on Monday. In honor of the jubilee date, it will last exactly 70 days and end on December 10 on the Human Rights Day.
The UN Resident Coordinator of the UN System in the Kyrgyz Republic Ozonnia Ojielo told that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is of global importance for each state individually.
"70 years after the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the states, it still has the same great significance as it was on the day of its creation. This is the first global document, which gave certain rights possessed by all people from birth, regardless of their country of residence, citizenship, ethnicity, religion, gender and age”, Ojielo said.
Kyrgyzstan, as one of the UN member states, is launching a large-scale action on human rights in honor of the 70th anniversary of the most important document,. The campaign has three main objectives: dissemination, involvement and reflection.
