Bishkek, Jan. 31, 2018 / Kabar /. 70% of foreign migrants in Kyrgyzstan are Chinese citizens, head of the State Migration Service Medetbek Aidaraliev said at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh where the issue of foreign workers is being discussed.
According to him, in 2017, more than 14.7 thousand quotas were issued for foreign labor, 11 thousand or 70% of them were received by Chinese citizens.
Aidaraliev added that the number of quotas in 2018 will remain approximately at this level.
Several deputies indicated that more than 20-30 thousand foreign citizens work in Kyrgyzstan without quotas.
Recall that in late 2017 State Secretary of the State Migration Service Nurlan Sheripov reported that 80% of work permits in Kyrgyzstan are received by Chinese citizens.
As reported, over the past five years, from 67 to 75 percent of the work permits in Kyrgyzstan are received by Chinese citizens. They are mainly engaged in the construction of roads, the reconstruction of the capital Thermal and Power Plant and in the mining industry.
Melis Turganbaev, when he was Minister of Internal Affairs, reported that more than 35 thousand foreigners illegally own a Kyrgyz passport, most of them are Chinese citizens.
