70% of needy families in Kyrgyzstan receive humanitarian aid

Bishkek, Apr. 16, 2020. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, more than 70% of needy families have received humanitarian aid, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Jamankulov said at a briefing at the Government House.

According to him, today there are more than 359 thousand 703 needy families throughout Kyrgyzstan. Following are data in regional perspective:

- Out of 49 thousand 47 needy families in Bishkek, 34 thousand 106 have received assistance;

- 7 thousand 35 families in Osh city (in total 27 thousand 778);

- 29 thousand 153 in Chui Oblast (in total 52 thousand 21);

- 38 thousand 405 in Osh Oblast out of 54 thousand 194;

- 7 thousand 654 families in Batken Oblast (in total 26 thousand 641);

- 25 thousand 397 needy families in Dzhalal-Abad Oblast (in total 66 thousand 020);

- 5 thousand 249 families in Naryn Oblast out of 23 thousand 966;

- 6 thousand 623 families in Talas Oblast (in total 15 thousand 68);

- 16 thousand 195 families in Issyk-Kul Oblast out of 44 thousand 968.

"To date, the Assistance Hadquarters, together with state bodies and citizens, has provided 70-75% of those in need with essential products," he said.

In addition, Minister Jamankulov stressed the work on distribution of basic necessities to needy families continues.
