Bishkek, Nov. 14, 2023. / Kabar/. November 14 is the World Diabetes Day. 74,810 people with diabetes are officially registered in Kyrgyzstan.
According to data of the Republican Center for Health Promotion reported that the number of patients in the country increases annually by at least 5-7 thousand.
Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common chronic diseases in the world and is studied as a social problem that is becoming increasingly relevant.
In the world:
- Every 15 years, the number of people with diabetes doubles!
- Every year, more than 1 million people undergo lower limb amputation, and more than 700 thousand lose their sight.
- Every 5 seconds the number of diabetics increases by 1 person.
- Every 7 seconds - 1 person dies with this diagnosis.
