Bishkek, June 6, 2022 . /Kabar/ . 823 fires were recorded in Kyrgyzstan in the last 5 months of 2022, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic said Monday.
In 2021, 1 thousand 353 cases were registered.
Thus, the number of fires decreased by 39.2% compared to the previous year.
As a result, the material damage was KGS 227 million (over KGS 356 million in 2021 - a decrease of 36.2%), 16 people died as a result of fires (24 people in 2021) and 11 people were injured (31 people in 2021).
The main causes of fires are:
- violation of the rules of operation of electrical equipment (384 fires, 46.7%);
- careless handling of fire (132 fires, or 16% of the total number);
- violation of the rules of fire use (126 fires, or 15.3% of the total number)
- children's carelessness with fire (28 fires, 3.4% of the total).
"Due to the onset of a high summer fire season in the country, fires associated with the ignition of dry grass, in the fields, pastures, residential and other facilities have become more frequent. The blaze of dry grass threatens the loss of large areas of forest and grain crops," the report said.
In addition, this year, fire and rescue service rescued 72 head of livestock, 18 units of vehicles worth KGS 273 million.
