823 fires registered in Kyrgyzstan since beginning of year

Bishkek, Aug. 6, 2022 . / Kabar / . 823 fires and 47 emergencies were registered in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year, and 38 people drowned, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Urmat Shamyrkanov said during the ministry's board meeting.

He noted that rational use of modern technology and equipment by divers and firefighters, as well as regular preliminary preventive measures contributed to reducing the number of accidents in the country.

Thus, 823 fires were registered in the country for 6 months of 2022, that is 39,2% less than in the same period of 2021.

Material damage from fires was KGS 227 million 682 thousand, which is 36.7% less in comparison with the same period of 2021.

In addition, in the first 6 months of 2022 there were 47 emergency situations, including 22 floods. Total damage amounted to KGS 382 million 788 thousand. 38 people drowned.
