In Kyrgyzstan, 377 out of 452 aiyl okmotus (local self-governments bodies) are subsidized by the state, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Head of the Kyrgyz President’s Office Akylbek Zhaparov said during the Republican Meeting of heads of LSG bodies and local state administrations.
He added that currently only 75 LSG bodies across the republic cover their expenses on their own.
"Thus, at present, the main goal of all new heads of LSG bodies is to get out of the subsidy. In turn, under the transformation, 50% of income tax and 30% of sales tax of aiyl okmotu will be allocated to the local budget. In addition, funds for payment of utilities and maintenance of schools in aiyl okmotu will be provided in the national budget,” Zhaparov said.
The capital city of Bishkek hosted on Thursday the Republican Meeting of heads of LSG bodies and local state administrations.
