88% of Kyrgyz citizens consider Russia main economic partner

Bishkek, Feb, 17, 2020. / Kabar /. The International Republican Institute (IRI) conducted a poll from Nov. 21 to Dec. 3, 2019, in which 1483 residents of all regions of Kyrgyzstan took part.

According to this poll, 88% of respondents consider the Russian Federation the most important economic partner of the Kyrgyz Republic.

95% of respondents rated the relationship with Russia as “good”.

80% rated the relationship with Kazakhstan as “good”, 65% - with Turkey, Uzbekistan - 64%, the EU - 62%, the European Union - 62%, China - 55%.

In addition, compared with the previous study, which was conducted in November 2018, the number of those who “fairly positively” assess Kyrgyzstan’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union increased by 50% (November 2018 - 45%).
