Bishkek, Dec. 13, 2018. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz Embassy in Islamabad, together with the Russian Embassy, held a screening of a documentary film, a photo exhibition and recital of passages from Aitmatov’s works dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the writer, in one of the leading higher educational institutions of Pakistan - the National University of Modern Languages.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that during a meeting with Rector of the University Major General (R) Zia Uddin Najam, issues of cooperation with universities of Kyrgyzstan, organization of exchanges between teachers and students, and joint research were discussed.
On December 7, 2018, a screening of the film “The White Steamboat”, a documentary film, a photo exhibition, and dishes of the Kyrgyz national cuisine were presented at the Russian Embassy.
During the past meetings, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Beishembiyev spoke about the life and work of Aitmatov, about the celebration of his 90th birthday in Kyrgyzstan and abroad, about the significance of his literary legacy for the world community.
