95% of cases of violence in Kyrgyzstan committed against women and children

Bishkek, Sept. 7, 2022. / Kabar /. 95% of cases of violence in Kyrgyzstan are committed against women and children, MP Elvira Surabaldieva told at the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh.

“However, today only a part of the victims address to law enforcement agencies,” she said.

The MP also provided visual statistics of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Thus, in 2019, 278 cases were registered on the fact of violence against women and children, of which only 38% reached the court. In 2020, 673 cases were registered, 16% reached the court, in 2021 - 640 cases, 21% reached the court.
