99-year-old Canadian swimmer sets three world records in her age category

99-year-old Canadian swimmer Betty Brussels set three world records in her age group (100-104 years). Sportbox.ru reports this with reference to The Guardian.

At the meet in Saanich, British Columbia, she completed the 400-meter freestyle in 12 minutes, 50.3 seconds, bettering the previous record by 3 minutes, 46.5 seconds.

In the 50m backstroke, she clocked 1.24.91 seconds, almost 5 seconds faster than the previous record.

Brussels also set a new world record in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 1.56.22 seconds.

The woman said she trains twice a week despite having a pacemaker installed after a heart attack 25 years ago.
