Kyrgyz and Tajik FMs discuss border issues and assistance to ethnic Kyrgyz in Pamir

Bishkek, April 7 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdildayev met on April 6, 2017 at the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Tashkent with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirodzhidin Aslov, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation, including delimitation of the borders of the two states, cross-border cooperation, strengthening of confidence measures, cooperation in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The sides stressed the positive dynamics of bilateral relations and outlined long-term plans for their further development. Particular attention was paid to regional security, in particular, the situation in Afghanistan.

Minister Abdyldayev expressed his request to the Tajik side to assist the Kyrgyz side in delivering humanitarian aid to ethnic Kyrgyz living in the territory of the Little and the Big Pamir of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
