Tashkent, Jan.22, 2020. /Kabar/. Abdullah Aripov has been confirmed on Tuesday as Prime Minister of Uzbekistan at a joint session of the Oliy Majlis (Uzbek Parliament).
At the session, Aripov made a speech on the action program of the Cabinet of Ministers for the near and medium term.
Earlier, the Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party, which has the largest number of deputy seats, proposed to President current head of the Government Abdulla Aripov for the post of Prime Minister.
Abdulla Aripov, 59, led the government in December 2016. He served as Deputy Prime Minister for over 10 years, from May 2002 to August 2012. At the same time, in 2005-2009, he was heading the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Informatization.
In September 2016, after the country elected a new president, Abdulla Aripov returned to the Government as deputy prime minister and head of the Cabinet of Ministers Complex on Youth Policy, Culture, Information Systems and Telecommunications.
