Bishkek, April 14, 2021 . / Kabar / . As of April 14, 2021, about 2 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan have taken advantage of information system (mobile application) of the Eurasian Development Bank Digital Initiative Fund project “COVID-19 Free Travel” (1155 people in Bishkek, 767 people in Osh).

The press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported that the digital platform aims to help restore economic activity in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, which has deteriorated due to restrictions on the movement of citizens between countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The digital solution is aimed at reducing the risk of the spread of COVID-19 during the cross-border movement of citizens within the Eurasian Economic Union. COVID-19 Free Travel reduces the risk of spreading the disease and provides a robust intergovernmental control system.

The application shows the user the nearest laboratories where they can get tested for COVID-19. When visiting the laboratory, the user must be informed of the intention to receive the test result in the application. In this case, the user will be provided with a consent form for the processing of personal data and for obtaining results in the mobile application. A QR code will be displayed on the form, which the user must scan through the mobile application.

Two state virology laboratories have been connected to the information system in test mode.

Currently, the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic together with representatives of the Eurasian Development Bank are working to connect to the COVID-19 Free Travel information system several private laboratories.
