Bishkek, June 16, 2021. / Kabar /. As of May 24 of this year, about 663 thousand hectares have been sown with spring crops in Kyrgyzstan, as a whole, which is 1.3% less than last year, the National Statistics Committee reported.
According to data, the area under crops compared to the area planted with spring crops in 2020 decreased by 3 percent in the republic as a whole. Along with this, the area under crops of sugar beet in comparison with the area planted with spring crops in 2020 increased by 24 percent, vegetables - by 3.2 percent, spring barley - by 0.1 percent.
In addition, in May of this year agricultural producers carried out work on feeding winter crops on an area of 74.0 thousand hectares and spring plowing - on an area of 616.1 thousand hectares.
