Bishkek, Apr. 10, 2018. / Kabar /. About seven thousand girls got married in Kyrgyzstan each year in adolescence life, League of Defenders of the Rights of the Child public fund reported.
According to data of the public fund, out of the total number of young people who marry - 13% get married before the age of 18.
The fund also presented infographics on gender and violence in the family, referring to data of the UN Women Central Asia.
The information indicates that in Central and South Asia the highest percentage of marriages is observed at a minor age.
Thus, 16% of women married under 15 years of age and 43% under 18 years of age.
Women do 2.6 times more unpaid work at home compared than men.
