Bishkek, Mar. 28, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev met Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of energy company Gazprom, the press service of the Government Office of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, topical issues of joint cooperation, as well as future plans of the company for the development of the gas industry in Kyrgyzstan, modernization of gas supply facilities and gasification of the regions were discussed.
The head of government stressed that this meeting is taking place on the eve of the state visit of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, under which a number of agreements, including on further cooperation with Gazprom, are expected to be signed and discussed.
The Prime Minister stressed that the company is not only a major investor for the country, but also solves many social issues. Abylgaziev added that the Kyrgyz side is ready to discuss and implement new projects in the framework of joint cooperation.
The Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom reminded that when entering the domestic market of the country, the company assumed obligations to invest 20 billion roubles over five years. According to him, to date, the total investment of Gazprom has amounted to 26.5 billion roubles.
Miller also noted the successful implementation of the Gazprom for Children Social project, within the framework of which nine modern sports and recreation complexes were built in the regions of Kyrgyzstan.
The sides discussed in detail the company's future plans for investing in the gas distribution sector of the country and expressed mutual readiness for further fruitful cooperation.
