Bishkek, Apr. 21, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev became acquainted with the progress of spring field work in Chui Oblast, the press service of the government said.
The prime minister visited the fields in Moscow region of Chui Oblast, where sowing is underway, and talked with farmers.
“We have all witnessed the difficulties our country has faced in the fight against coronavirus infection. In addition to the weak capacity of the health system, we also felt threats to our food security. Therefore, from the first days of the introduction of emergency regime, I set the task to ensure high-quality spring-field work, so that they go on at the right time and at the right level,” said Abylgaziev.
The head of government emphasized that all emerging issues should be resolved promptly within the framework of the work of the republican headquarters, and farmers should not face difficulties in purchasing fuels and lubricants, seeds, components for agricultural machinery.
“It has become obvious to all of us that the country should provide itself with food in a larger volume. It is time to rethink the approaches in agriculture. This is especially concerns the import substitution policy. This should be one of the main priorities of our work. I want to emphasize once again that despite the situation in the country, there should be no obstacles for farmers and peasants. It is necessary to ensure that spring field work is carried out at a high level. More than ever, the security of the population with food, the strengthening of the state, and food security depend on your work. We must correctly use all the accumulated experience, potential and our capabilities,” Abylgaziev said.
The prime minister gave the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation, as well as the heads of local governments, a number of specific instructions regarding ensuring the necessary conditions for conducting spring field work at the proper level.
