Bishkek, Aug. 28, 2018. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan needs to ratify the UN convention, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkaliy Abylgaziev told today at a government meeting, where the preparation process of Kyrgyzstan for ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities was under consideration.
Minister of Social Development Taalaykul Isakunova made a presentation on the matter.
She said that Kyrgyzstan is preparing for the convention. However, as a rule, it is necessary to contribute a certain sum of money in order to fulfill all the mandatory terms within all the requirements.
Isakunova said that according to the experts’ estimations, there is a need for approximately 30 billion soms.
In turn, Prime Minister Abylgaziev noted that despite the money, Kyrgyzstan must support the convention.
“We need to ratify this convention, and fulfill all the mandatory terms – this and installation of ramps and other requirements. We will try to adjust our budget and make steps in this direction. The government must support this decision, and not pretend as if it did not concern anyone. Society that takes care of the weak is a strong society,” Abylgaziev said.
