Abylgaziev: Primary task is health of citizens and second is economic bloc

Bishkek, March 20, 2020 / Kabar /. Today, the primary task is the health of our citizens, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev told during a meeting of the Coalition of the Parliamentary Majority of the Jogorku Kenesh.

“The situation, as you see, is complicated. This must be discussed openly. We predict that budget losses for customs duties will amount to about KGS 12-13 billion, for tax - more than KGS 15 billion. In general, according to the most conservative estimates, we will not receive about USD 450 million in the budget if the current situation does not change. At the same time, I want to emphasize that we will fulfill all social obligations in all areas. But this will require decisive steps to optimize budget expenditures and revise the expenditure items that we will go to,” Abylgaziev said.

He said that the government has initiated active work with international partners who are ready to help.

The prime minister emphasized that a specific action plan for the anti-crisis program will be prepared for each industry.

“Today, the paramount task is the health of our citizens. The second direction is the economic bloc, the foreign exchange market, prevention of deficit and increase in prices for essential goods,” Abylgaziev said.
