Abylgaziev to get acquainted with course of spring field work in Osh oblast

Bishkek, Mar. 20, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev will get acquainted with the progress of spring field work during his working visit to Osh oblast on March 20-21, the press service of the Government Office of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The head of government will also hold a conference call with the participation of heads of state bodies and regions of the country to discuss this issue and prevent emergencies.

In addition, the Prime Minister will familiarize himself with the preparations for the events held as part of the announcement of the city of Osh as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World in 2019, and will also take part in the festive events dedicated to Nooruz. Nooruz or Nowruz is celebrated on the spring equinox, usually on March 21, and marks the beginning of a new year according to the astronomical solar calendar of the Iranian and Turkic peoples.

The decision to declare the city of Osh the Сultural Сapital of the Turkic World in 2019 was adopted unanimously at the 36th meeting of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY member countries, which was held in Kastamonu (Turkey) on December 18, 2018. Considering that the history of the city of Osh dates back more than 3 000 years, which was celebrated in 2 000 with the support of the UN at the international arena, and Sulayman-Too Mountain in Osh is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the ministers of culture of the TURKSOY member countries decided to support the proposal of the Kyrgyz side and declare the city of Osh the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World. Starting from the new year, a number of international joint events of TURKSOY, Osh city administration and the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic are planned in Osh.
