Bishkek, Feb. 2, 2024. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov keeps the situation at the Bishkek Thermal Power Plant under personal control, his press secretary Askat Alagozov told Kabar.
He said that the president was immediately informed about the emergency situation at the thermal power plant.
“The president instructed to eliminate the consequences of the current situation in a short time. In turn, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and competent government agencies are at the scene of the accident. The head of state keeps the situation under personal control,” he said.
Today, February 2, at 03:00, an accident occurred at the thermal power plant, as a result of which the equipment failed.
“In connection with the accident, an operational headquarters has been created to restore equipment that has failed and restore the consequences of the emergency,” the Ministry of Energy reported.
At the moment all personnel of the plant are involved in eliminating the situation.
As a result of the accident, 3 employees were injured and are in the hospital.
The residents are receiving uninterrupted electricity. However, in order to maintain the operation of the combined heat and power plant and heating networks, the supply of hot water to city residents has been suspended. At the moment, the operational headquarters is working to restore heating in the homes of citizens.
