Bishkek, Dec. 18, 2020 / Kabar /. Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov took part in a regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the format of a video conference, the press service of the president reported.
The event was attended by the heads of the CIS member states - Presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Moldova Igor Dodon, Russia Vladimir Putin, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev and Chairman of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.
Topical issues of interaction between countries within the framework of the Commonwealth were discussed.
Following the meeting, a number of documents were adopted aimed at strengthening and developing cooperation within the CIS, namely: the Concept for the Further Development of the CIS and the Plan of Major Measures for its Implementation, the Joint Statement of the Heads of the CIS Member States on the Occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the UN, the Joint Statement of the Heads of the CIS Member States on Cooperation in the Field of International Information Security, Implementation Documents in 2022 the Interstate Program "Cultural Capitals of the Commonwealth" in the Kyrgyz Republic and the announcement in the CIS of 2022 as the Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage, 2023 - the Year of the Russian language as a language of interethnic communication.
