Bishkek, Jan. 8, 2021 / Kabar /. Acting Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov visited the Jamgyr gold deposit, where the Vertex Gold Company works, the government's press service reported.
“I am glad that the company, despite the difficulties, was the first to resume its work after the October events. This gave a positive signal to investors about stability in the market of the Kyrgyz Republic. Thus, the commissioning works scheduled for August 2021 for the launch of the gold recovery plant will begin on time. It is also gratifying that step by step we are moving towards the creation of a closed cycle of gold production, when ore is mined and processed in the country,” said Artem Novikov.
Acting head of government noted with satisfaction the company's choice of a dry tailings storage method.
“This suggests that there will be no risk of dam breakage. This is very important, since one of the main issues for us is to ensure environmental safety,” the acting prime minister noted.
At the same time, Artem Novikov stressed the importance of involving the local population in the activities of the enterprise.
“Analyzes have shown that the local reserves are estimated at 10 tons of gold. This indicates the extension of the enterprise for at least 5 years. I will not hide that the task of the Government is to use your potential for the development of the field, to ensure the development of the region through the formation of economic centers. After the end of the enterprise’s activity, the economy of the region should remain stable. It is important that with the launch of the gold recovery plant, not only the volume of production will increase by 2-3 times, but the volume of tax payments to the republican budget, to the regional development fund will proportionally increase,” he stated.
