Bishkek, Dec. 20, 2020 / Kabar /. Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov, as part of his working trip to Jalal-Abad Oblast met today with residents of Nooken region, the press service of the president said.
At the meeting, the issues of socio-political situation, measures for the socio-economic development of the republic and others were raised.
The acting head of state noted that on Oct. 6-7, this year, there were popular unrest in the country, as a result of which a peaceful change of power took place. The reason for the dissatisfaction of the population was the unfair results of the parliamentary elections, held with numerous violations, and the absence of qualitative changes in the republic.
Talant Mamytov said that the coronavirus pandemic has had a significant negative impact on the domestic economy.
He noted with regret that due to the existing socio-economic problems in the country, the issue of labor migration is quite acute.
“Rapid reforms are needed to address these and many other issues. In this difficult time, the current leadership of Kyrgyzstan bears a great responsibility. Today, one of the main priorities for us is to conduct transparent and fair presidential elections," said the acting head of state.
He added that along with the presidential elections, a referendum will be held to determine the form of government.
“For the first time in the history of the republic, the people themselves will choose the appropriate form of government,” Talant Mamytov said.
He also dwelled on the prospects for the growth and development of the domestic economy.
At the meeting, local residents raised issues related to the electoral system, reconstruction of emergency preschool institutions, activities in the forestry system, construction of road infrastructure, rates on bank loans, access to education and medical services, the quality of the education system, provision of drinking water to settlements, traffic accidents, as well as prices for fuels and lubricants and food, etc.
Talant Mamytov and the heads of the relevant ministries and departments answered the questions of residents of Nooken region.
