Acting President Zhaparov receives Chinese Ambassador Du Dewen

Bishkek, Oct. 30, 2020. /Kabar/. Acting President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received on Friday Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.

In his conversation with the ambassador, Sadyr Zhaparov noted that social and political situation in Kyrgyzstan has stabilized within a short time.

According to him, cooperation with China is one of the main priorities in Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy.

He also expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for its support in combating the spread of coronavirus infection and the humanitarian assistance provided.

"The People's Republic of China was one of the first countries to provide timely and continued assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic.

We intend to intensify bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China in all directions," the acting president said.

Besides, Zhaparov positively noted Du Dewen's personal contribution to strengthening friendship between the two countries.

In turn, Ambassador Dewen on behalf of the Chinese Government congratulated Sadyr Zhaparov on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic.

"China sincerely wishes Kyrgyzstan peace and prosperity and is always ready to help whenever possible," the ambassador noted.

During the conversation, Du Dewen drew attention to the issue of ensuring the safety of Chinese companies and enterprises operating in the republic.

Sadyr Zhaparov assured that Chinese investors and enterprises can feel safe.

On issue of the full functioning of Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Chinese section of the state border, the ambassador said a working meeting of representatives of the competent authorities of the two countries is planned on Nov. 6 to discuss problematic issues related to the current algorithm of cargo passage.

The sides also touched upon the implementation of a number of bilateral projects.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed readiness to continue active dialogue to address pressing issues on the agenda of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation.
