Bishkek, Mar. 20, 2019. /Kabar/. An active phase of the joint Kanzhar-2019 Kyrgyz-Indian exercise took place at the Kyrgyz-Indian center for mountain training at the Edelweiss training ground in Balykchy, Issyk-Kul oblast, on Tuesday, the press service of the National Guard of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The exercise was held with the participation of special forces of the National Guard under the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Indian Armed Forces. The exercise was attended by Commander of the National Guard of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic Talantbek Ergeshov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Kyrgyz Republic Alok Amitabh Dimri.
At the closure, Ergeshov noted that the purpose of the exercise, goal and objectives were determined based on the current military-political situation in the world, which dictates the need for timely response to the renewed challenges and threats arising from international terrorism and radical extremism. He also stressed the high level of combat training of military personnel of both countries and thanked them for their active participation.
During the week, according to the exercise plan, the Kyrgyz and Indian soldiers jointly worked out the issues of conducting a special operation to identify, localize and destroy illegal armed groups in mountainous conditions, improve the practical skills of unit commanders in organizing the management of units mission, checking the skills of officers and sergeants to manage the fire of their units.
The joint Kyrgyz-Indian Kanzhar exercise is held on a regular basis once a year in the territory of both countries.
