Actors of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will stage guest plays based on Aitmatov’s works

Bishkek, Oct. 5, 2018. / Kabar /. Actors from the Tashkent Theater are expected to arrive in Kyrgyzstan and stage plays based on works by Chyngyz Aitmatov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan Komil Rashidov told at Kabar agency.

He noted that in the neighboring country the people highly value the literary and philosophical heritage of the great writer, in connection with which in April of this year the top leadership of the state adopted a resolution on the broad celebration of Aitmatov's 90th anniversary.

“Chyngyz Aitmatov is the pride of the Uzbek people. He made a lot of efforts to establish and strengthen friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan with his creative work, personal approach and attitude to our writers. Many generations have been brought up in Chyngyz Torokulovich’s works, and on 2 April the President of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution on the wide celebration of Chyngyz Torokulovich’s jubilee, where an international conference is planned, the name of one street in Tashkent named after him, the reproduction of his works, preparation a documentary about his creative legacy, and now the film crew is in Bishkek on this project,” the diplomat said.

In addition, the ambassador noted that today film crews of the two countries are shooting a joint film based on the work “My Poplar in a Red Scarf”.

"It is also worth pointing out that there are plays on 20 works by Aitmatov are going on in the theaters of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Tours of the Tashkent theater to Kyrgyzstan and the Naryn theater to Uzbekistan are scheduled,” Rashidov added.

In addition, he expressed the hope that the International Issyk-Kul Forum, which started today in Bishkek, will contribute to the study and popularization of the heritage of the great master.

“His undertakings to hold the Issyk-Kul forum have a global scale and international significance, promoting the ideas of friendship, the world of cooperation, finding compromises in dialogue, and solving environmental issues. I hope that all the ideas said here will find the right applications and develop concrete recommendations for world problems,” the ambassador concluded.
