Bishkek, March 27, 2018 / Kabar /. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Kyrgyzstan remains an important economic partner, Economy Minister Artem Novikov said during a meeting with ADB Vice President Wencai Zhang.
Novikov expressed gratitude to the ADB Vice President for positive cooperation, assistance and support to the Kyrgyz Republic.
"I would like to note that the President of Kyrgyzstan signed a decree declaring 2018 the Year of Regional Development, and our main task is the development of regions in the country. The next priority is the implementation of the National Digital Transformation Taza Koom Program, also the priority is to increase the export potential and increase the export of local products," Minister Novikov said.
In addition, the issues were discussed to improve the investment climate in Kyrgyzstan.
"With the active participation of ADB in 2017, the final phase of the cluster program for improving the investment climate in the Kyrgyz Republic was successfully completed. Also, the ADB provided support to develop mechanisms for public-private partnerships," the minister said.
Novikov expressed readiness to continue reforms to improve the investment climate and diversify the national economy.
In turn, Wencai Zhang expressed readiness to assist the reforms being carried out in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Particular attention was paid to the technical assistance of ADB in the development of the Medium-Term Program for Social and Economic Development until 2023, which reflects the main priorities of the Long-term National Strategy until 2040.
