Additional beds deployed in Bishkek as COVID-19 situation remains tense

Bishkek, April 20, 2021 . / Kabar / . The epidemiological situation in Bishkek and Chui Oblast remains tense, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Zhalalidin Rakhmatullayev said at a briefing Tuesday in the Government House.

"Currently, due to the increase in a number of coronavirus cases and the risk of repeated outbreaks of COVID-19, 132 additional beds have been deployed on the basis of City Hospital No. 1", he said.

According to the deputy minister, 281 beds are prepared in the capital city and 283 – in Chui Oblast.

"A total of 2,361 beds are prepared throughout the country for COVID-19 patients, of which 255 beds - for resuscitation. As of today, 1,125 beds are free, of which 156 beds are in intensive care," Rakhmatullayev noted.

In addition, he noted that 214 doctors and 403 nurses are working in the hospitals of the country, as well as 2,833 oxygen concentrators and 289 ventilators are prepared.
