Additional roadblocks installed on Kyrgyz borders in fighting terrorists

Bishkek, July 24, 2018 / Kabar /. Additional roadblocks are installed on the state borders of Kyrgyzstan with the purpose of fighting against terrorists, chairman of the State Border Service Ularbek Sharsheyev told during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.

He said that as is known, Afghanistan is a particular threat to Kyrgyzstan.

Recently, large forces of international terrorist organizations, namely the Taliban, the Islamic State, are concentrated near the borders of Central Asia countries: Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan. According to the latest data, there are more than 10 thousand militants, which can easily be influenced to Kyrgyzstan.

"In connection with this, in order to prevent the penetration of members of international terrorist organizations into the territory of our republic, the frontier-search teams is sent to remote and hard-to-reach areas, the places of possible movement of such persons. Also, temporary additional roadblocks are installed on borders," Sharsheyev said.

According to the results for the first half of the year, 12 persons who were involved in the actions of the war zone were detained.
