Bishkek, Feb.20, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Feb.20 Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov attended a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament).

New members of the Kyrgyz Government - Deputy Prime Ministers Erkin Asrandiyev, Akram Madumarov and Emergency Situations Minister Zamirbek Askarov took the oath in the presence of the President.

Afterwards, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov delivered a speech.

The Kyrgyz leader spoke about the main results of his presidential activities, focusing on the implementation of his election promises.

He spoke in detail about measures to implement state policy on regional development, digital transformation of the country, state support for social workers, law enforcement and security agencies, implementation of national projects to expand irrigation networks and provide clean drinking water to the population. He noted the main directions of foreign policy activities in the country.

In addition, the head of state outlined priorities for the Parliament in connection with the upcoming parliamentary elections.

He urged MPs to direct their efforts towards the consideration and adoption of urgent bills that have a direct impact on the social and economic, social and political situation and the implementation of reforms in the country.

Jeenbekov also touched upon the issue of the electoral threshold for the upcoming parliamentary elections, urging the MPs to thoroughly study the issue and make a balanced decision.

He particularly stressed that as the Head of State, elected to serve the interests of all people, he is ready to work with all political forces, who will win the parliamentary elections.

"The most important thing is to prevent a split in society, to preserve the unity of the people, to preserve interethnic harmony and peace in the country," concluded the President.
