Bishkek, Dec.16, 2019. /Kabar/. Access to adult education in remote areas of Kyrgyzstan is limited. At the press conference at Kabar News Agency, representatives of Kyrgyzstan’s Education Development Association voiced how to change the situation.
According to their data, earlier attempts have been made to solve the problem.
Two years ago, with the support of the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association, the Kyrgyz Education Development Association initiated amendments and additions to the current law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Education” concerning terminology in the field of informal and formal adult education, as well as the inclusion of the concept of "validation". The work has not been completed.
Executive Director of the Education Development Association Masuma Bashirova emphasized many countries around the world, including Kyrgyzstan, face great challenges. They are related to migration, employment, environmental issues and others. Adult education is one of the levers to ensure the concept of lifelong education.
According to Kaliyman Kobshekova, Executive Director of the Kyrgyz Adult Education Association, research into this topic was conducted. They interviewed about 2,400 respondents and found out what kind of education is available in the regions and existing gaps.
"Within the framework of the study, we found out that the license of training centers is an important problem, there is a routine procedure and regulations," says Kobsekova.
The head of the organization proposes to change the situation in informal education. The latter type of training should take a flexible approach, react quickly and train staff quickly.
Kobsekhova also pointed to the high concentration of universities and lyceums in the capital and the acute shortage in the regions.
