AFC extends postponement of all matches

Bishkek, Apr. 18, 2020 ./Kabar/. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has decided to postpone all matches and competitions scheduled for May and June, the press service of the Kyrgyz Football Union reported.

The AFC will continue to negotiate and consult with national associations on the issue of club competitions, as well as explore all possible options for the completion of the group stage of the 2020 AFC Champions League and the AFC Cup.

Capital city’s Dordoi FC will take part in the group stage of the AFC Cup.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is one of the six continental confederations within FIFA and is the governing body of association football in Asia and Australia. It has 47 member countries, mostly located on the Asian continent, but excludes the transcontinental countries with territory in both Europe and Asia – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey- which are members of UEFA.

The AFC was officially formed on 8 May 1954 in Manila, Philippines, on the sidelines of the second Asian Games. The main headquarters is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
