Bishkek, Jan.17, 2020./Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov received on Friday Ambassador of Afghanistan to Kyrgyzstan Mohammed Issa Mesbah on the occasion of completion of his diplomatic mission in the republic.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, Aidarbekov highly appreciated the emerging dynamics in Kyrgyz-Afghan relations last year, as evidenced by Afghan leader Ashraf Ghani's participation in the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Bishkek, successful completion of Afghan FM Salāhuddīn Rabbānī's official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
The sides also noted holding of the Third Meeting of the SCO-Afghanistan Contact Group in April 2019 in Bishkek.
The FM and the ambassador stressed last year the greatest importance was given to the issue of improving the situation of ethnic Kyrgyz in Afghanistan's Great and Little Pamirs.
Aidarbekov thanked Mesbah for the work done to develop Kyrgyz-Afghan relations and his contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.
In his turn, the ambassador of Afghanistan expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz side for the joint fruitful work and full assistance in his initiatives.
