Bishkek, June 29, 2021 . / Kabar / . A virtual meeting was held on Tuesday between Secretary General of the Kok Boru Federation of Kyrgyzstan Kuvatbek Askarbekov and Head of Afghanistan’s Kandahar Kok Boru team Qais Hassan.
The Kok Boru Federation of Kyrgyzstan reported that the meeting was arranged through the Kyrgyz Embassy in Afghanistan.
The meeting touched on the significance of the kok boru game as a continuation of heritage. The sides expressed desire to cooperate in the promotion of the game by building an international platform for the exchange of experiences.
Kuvatbek Askarbekov noted the Kok Boru Federation of Kyrgyzstan is ready to organize in Kyrgyzstan joint training camps with the participation of teams. The camps are held in order to develop the game of kok boru in the international arena and to transfer experience to other foreign athletes.
In addition, the team of Afghanistan will participate in Kok Boru Cup of Kyrgyzstan’s President , which will be held in late August in Cholpon-Ata (Issyk-Kul Oblast).
"To further develop the game of kok boru in Afghanistan, we are interested in signing a memorandum of cooperation with the Kok Boru Federation of Kyrgyzstan. We are also asking to send kok boru coaches so we can train,” Qais Hassan added.
