Bishkek, Dec. 3, 2018. / Kabar /. The works of great writer Chyngyz Aitmatov were presented at the International Book Exhibition, which runs until December 8 in Doha under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The pavilion of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic, decorated in national style, is dedicated to the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov. The exhibition presents his books in various languages of the world, including Kyrgyz, Russian, Kazakh, English, German. The bulk of the exhibits are books in Arabic, including those published in 2018, which indicates the author’s popularity among Arabic-speaking readers. Besides, videos on the 90th anniversary of the writer are shown in the pavilion.
The Kyrgyz exhibition was visited by Speaker of the Majlis Al-Shura (Parliament) of the State of Qatar, Ahmad bin Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Muhammad, Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghani Al-Ali, Minister of Justice Dr. Issa bin Saad Al-Jafali Al-Nuaimi, Minister for Vakuf Affairs (donations) and Islam Dr. Gais bin Mubarak Al-Kuvari, Minister of Administration, Labor and Social Affairs Yusef bin Mohammed Al-Osman Fahru, director of the Government Communications Agency, Sheikh Saif bin Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, as well as heads of diplomatic missions, diplomats, writers, students, and others.
The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Qatar Nuran Niyazaliev told the high guests about the life and work of great writer Chyngyz Aitmatov and the events held in honor of his 90th birthday.
