Bishkek, March 9, 2023 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov held talks with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov as part of a working visit to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment, water and energy, transport and communication, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The heads of government of the two countries discussed in detail the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan on January 26-27, 2023.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasized the significant role in the development of bilateral cooperation of the work of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission and the Council of Heads of Border Regions, as well as the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund.
During the talks, the parties expressed their readiness to increase the volume of mutual trade this year to two billion US dollars.
In turn, Abdulla Aripov confirmed the desire to strengthen and expand the Kyrgyz-Uzbek strategic partnership and, in general, to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
“We have every opportunity to reach the mark of 2 billion US dollars of mutual trade and stand for the speedy implementation of major joint projects, in particular the construction of the Kambar-Ata Hydroelectric Power Plant-1 and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway,” Abdulla Aripov concluded.
