Bishkek, May 19, 2023. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov met with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov as part of a working visit to Almaty city of Kazakhstan to participate in the Second Economic European Union - Central Asia Forum.
During the talks, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, and also discussed the implementation of the agreements reached following the results of last year's visits at the highest and high levels.
Akylbek Zhaparov noted that thanks to joint efforts, all existing issues on the agenda of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation are discussed in detail and resolved in the spirit of mutual understanding, trust and mutual support. “The mutual visits last year gave an additional impetus to the development of our relations. I am sure that our today's meeting will also provide a good opportunity to discuss and determine further ways and prospects for bilateral cooperation,” he said.
In turn, Alikhan Smailov noted with satisfaction the high level of bilateral relations between the two states.
The heads of government of the two countries exchanged views on the upcoming bilateral events, which are scheduled for the second half of this year. In particular, it is planned to conduct an official visit of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic to Kazakhstan, the next 11th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Intergovernmental Council, the First meeting of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh interregional forum.
At the end of the meeting, the sides mutually expressed their commitment to further strengthening and expanding allied relations and strategic partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
