Bishkek, Feb. 28, 2024. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov yesterday held negotiations with Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Gombojav Zandanshatar, who arrived in the Kyrgyz Republic for an official visit.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, transport, mining, industrial, tourism, environmental, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers especially emphasized the positive results of the state visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Mongolia in 2023, which gave a powerful impetus to the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
The chairman of the Cabinet also focused on the possibility of increasing mutual trade turnover in terms of supplies of domestic environmentally friendly agricultural products of the Kyrgyz Republic to Mongolia.
Discussing issues of cooperation in the field of light industry, the head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet emphasized that the textile and clothing industry are priority sectors, and therefore Kyrgyzstan is ready to use Mongolia’s experience in this area to bring domestic products to the markets of not only neighboring countries, but also near and far abroad.
The parties also discussed issues of cooperation in the tourism sector. In this context, an agreement was reached to intensify cooperation with Mongolia in the field of tourism, including the exchange of experience, organization of joint events and implementation of joint investment projects.
In turn, the chairman of the State Great Khural noted the positive dynamics in relations between the countries and emphasized the importance of holding in the near future the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Gombojav Zandanshatar voiced the support of the Mongolian side for Kyrgyzstan’s accession to the multilateral Agreement on International Transport on the Asian Highway Network, and emphasized that this would be a positive development in the transport, logistics and trade areas of cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Regarding the expansion of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the Mongolian speaker expressed interest in interaction within the framework of the World Nomad Games, focusing on the common cultures and history of the two countries.
The chairman of the Parliament of Mongolia expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz side for providing scholarship places to Mongolian students at universities in our country and called for further joint cooperation in the research and educational fields.
Following the meeting, a signing ceremony of bilateral documents took place.
Thus the following documents were signed:
1. Memorandum of Understanding between the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Bank of Mongolia:
2. Memorandum of Understanding between the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia;
3. Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC and the Bank of Mongolia;
4. Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine between the Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture and Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic and the General Directorate of Veterinary Medicine under the Government of Mongolia;
5. Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation between the Deposit Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Mongolia.
