Bishkek, June 8, 2023. / Kabar /. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, as part of his working trip to the city of Sochi to participate in meetings of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS and the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, met with Prime Minister of the Russia Mikhail Mishustin.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on expanding Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in trade, economic, investment, agricultural, industrial, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.
In addition, the heads of government discussed the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to the Russian Federation in May this year.
The sides paid special attention to the upcoming events of interregional cooperation planned to be held on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the implementation of joint projects of industrial cooperation.
Noting the importance of cooperation in the educational sphere, the head of the Cabinet informed the head of the Russian government that the intergovernmental agreement on the construction of 9 schools in Kyrgyzstan has passed all three readings in the Jogorku Kenesh and is being prepared for the president to sign.
In this vein, the need to start the construction of 9 secondary schools in the territory of Kyrgyzstan by the Russian Federation was confirmed.
Continuing the topic of education, Akylbek Zhaparov proposed to start practical study of the issue of creating branches of Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, the Higher School of Economics in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as Kyrgyz-Russian Institute of Agrarian Technologies and Biomedicine named after Skryabin on the basis of the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University of Skryabin.
In turn, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin conveyed greetings and warm wishes on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin to President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov.
“The task of our governments is to ensure the implementation of the agreements reached by our leaders during the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation on May 7-9 this year. In January-April, the volume of mutual trade increased by 16% and amounted to almost 85 billion rubles or more than 92 billion soms. We will continue to raise this level,” said Mikhail Mishustin.
In conclusion, the sides agreed to maintain active contacts at all levels of interaction in order to implement the reached agreements.
