Akylbek Zhaparov and Mikhail Mishustin hold talks

Bishkek, Nov. 22, 2021 / Kabar /. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov, within the framework of his working trip to Moscow (Russia), met with Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

The sides discussed key issues in the development of bilateral relations in the trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and fuel and energy spheres.

At the same time, the sides emphasized the importance of the early launch of the project for the construction of educational institutions in the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, an agreement on which had been previously reached between the heads of state.

“Kyrgyz-Russian interaction is based on the principles of partnership and is developing steadily in bilateral and multilateral formats,” Akylbek Zhaparov noted during the meeting.

He also expressed gratitude to the Russian side for the decision to increase from December 1 of this year the number of regular flights between the two countries and the supply of humanitarian aid in the form of 200 thousand doses of the Russian Sputnik Light vaccine.

Akylbek Zhaparov and Mikhail Mishustin discussed the digitalization of tax and customs administration systems, including the fiscalization of tax and customs procedures, noting the need to create a modern data center in the Kyrgyz Republic.

“The experience of the Russian Federation in this direction is very important for us,” said Akylbek Zhaparov.

In turn, Mikhail Mishustin stressed that the Russian side is interested in bringing bilateral cooperation to a new, high level, filling it with good content and joint projects.

The chairman of the Russian Government wished successful holding of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan on Nov. 28 of this year.

He also noted a 38% increase in trade between the two states in comparison with the previous year.

“We welcome your principled approach to developing cooperation with the Russian Federation, an ally and strategic partner of the Kyrgyz Republic,” Mikhail Mishustin said.

“I am sure that today's meeting will give a new impetus to our joint efforts to continue meaningful work in all areas of bilateral cooperation,” concluded Akylbek Zhaparov and invited Mikhail Mishustin to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan in the near future.
