Akylbek Zhaparov holds number of important meetings in Washington

Bishkek, April 16, 2024 / Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, during a working trip to Washington, met with representatives of the American-Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce.

“Kyrgyzstan is a country with a rich cultural heritage, significant natural resources and a strategic geographical location. We strive to create a stable and open economy that is attractive to foreign investors and business communities,” said the head of the Cabinet of Ministers and noted that this meeting will strengthen bilateral traditionally friendly relations, as well as give additional impetus to the interaction of the business circles of the two countries.

The chairman of the Cabinet expressed interest in attracting American technology and investment in sectors such as energy, agriculture, mining and tourism.

“I am confident that American business will find reliable partners and promising areas for investment in Kyrgyzstan,” Akylbek Zhaparov concluded the meeting.

Further, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers held a meeting with the management team of the American consulting company Alvarez & Marsal, where he focused on the country’s economic indicators, noting that Kyrgyzstan continues to develop at a steady pace.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of attracting foreign investment in key infrastructure projects and sustainable development projects of the Kyrgyz Republic, and also identified priority areas of bilateral cooperation.

Akylbek Zhaparov thanked the managing director of the company for his assistance in advising on issues of national interest in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In addition, an exchange of views took place on bilateral issues, in particular, Peter Briggs, managing director and executive head of the company, presented comprehensive information about the activities of the consulting service, as well as information about their functions and experience of interaction with many countries of the world.

The parties fundamentally agreed on all pressing issues and further actions to address them, and also agreed to create a working technical group between the consulting company and the competent government bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic to study bilateral issues and speedily develop a road map.

Company representatives expressed high interest in continuing dialogue and work with the Kyrgyz Republic on a wide range of issues.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to continue working in the spirit of mutual understanding to achieve positive results.
