Bishkek, Feb. 22, 2022. / Kabar /. The main advantage of Batken Oblast is its transit potential, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov said during a retreat of the Cabinet, held in Batken town of Batken Oblast.
The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported that issues of further development of the region, in particular, improvement of infrastructure and roads, social security and state support of citizens, including from border villages, creation of conditions for investment inflow were discussed during the retreat.
Zhaparov noted that Batken Oblast is a strategic region.
"The main advantage of Batken is its transit potential. In the future Batken transport corridors will serve not only Batken Oblast, but also the whole country and will become development corridors for the whole republic,” the head of the Cabinet noted.
He added that Batken Oblast has all the potential to become a transit corridor between the Fergana Valley and the People's Republic of China.
"As soon as we create the conditions and engage phytosanitary laboratories, we will be able to export quality and environmentally friendly products to neighboring China through the Irkeshtam checkpoint. Kyzyl-Kiya will become the largest regional trade hub between Central Asia and China. Airports of Batken and Isfana will receive international status, and Leylek free economic zone will work as planned earlier," Akylbek Zhaparov.
He stressed that the completion of delimitation and demarcation of the state border is the main priority of the Cabinet of Ministers.
