Ashgabat, May 24, 2024. / Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic - Head of the Presidential Administration Akylbek Zhaparov met with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov within the framework of participation in the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS countries in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan).
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that since the beginning of the year there has been active interaction in Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations.
"On April 9, within the framework of your working visit to Bishkek, we held detailed negotiations on the whole range of bilateral cooperation, and on April 18-19, the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the 6th meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council was successfully held," he said.
Akylbek Zhaparov emphasized that in order to achieve the goals set by the heads of the two states, the parties should make maximum efforts for the timely implementation of investment and other projects between the countries on the agenda.
In turn, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov noted that an important strategic component of relations is the trade and economic vector.
"We must maintain this positive dynamics and intensify work to achieve the new goal set by the heads of state - to increase trade turnover to $3 billion," he said.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov invited Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov to participate in the International Energy Investment Forum, which will be held on June 10-11, 2024 in Vienna with the support of the World Bank and with the assistance of the Austrian government.
The parties expressed confidence in further progressive development of cooperation in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
