Akylbek Zhaparov meets with representatives of largest Turkish businesses in Ankara

Bishkek, Feb. 9, 2024. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, as part of an official visit to Turkiye, met with representatives of the largest Turkish businesses.

During the meeting, the head of the Cabinet noted that about 300 companies with Turkish capital operate in Kyrgyzstan in various industries, and thousands of Kyrgyzstanis work at these enterprises.

Akylbek Zhaparov expressed confidence that many more successful business projects will be implemented between Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye, and called on Turkish entrepreneurs to actively invest in Kyrgyzstan.

“Turkish contractors have already implemented about 70 projects in Kyrgyzstan. Thanks to these projects, Turkish companies supported the development initiatives of our country. Of course, we are not going to stop there. I am confident that we will implement many more successful projects in the future,” he said.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that economic growth in Kyrgyzstan over the past three years averaged almost 7%, and gross domestic product last year amounted to 1 trillion 228 billion soms, noting that entrepreneurs play a big role in achieving the above goals.

Akylbek Zhaparov expressed interest in attracting investments, advanced technologies, and management methods of Turkish companies in the development of the economy of Kyrgyzstan.

“We are taking decisive measures aimed at attracting investors, strengthening confidence in our country, and striving to create an open business and investment climate. This is one of the most important priorities of Kyrgyzstan,” said Akylbek Zhaparov.

In turn, the President of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Rifat Rifat Hisarzhikly oglu, noted that representatives of the largest Turkish companies gathered at the meeting, and thanked for the conditions that are being created in Kyrgyzstan for foreign investors.

The meeting with Akylbek Zhaparov was attended by heads of the largest Turkish companies in the fields of defense, aviation, agriculture, energy, services, healthcare, education, e-commerce, mining, construction and manufacturing.
