Bishkek, Nov. 5, 2021 . / Kabar / . During the First European Union-Central Asia Economic Forum, Head of the Presidential Administration and Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov noted the steady growth of trade, economic and investment relations between Central Asian countries and EU over the past decade.
"Today, the EU is the main trade partner of our region, accounting for about a third of its total foreign trade, according to data posted on the European Commission website. All this allows us to be optimistic about the future of our mutually beneficial cooperation and the prospects for further deepening of economic cooperation. There are all the necessary conditions and prerequisites for this," he said.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers also expressed confidence that through joint efforts, exchange of knowledge and advanced technologies, mutually complementing each other, the regions will be able to fully realize the existing economic potential and the best examples of mutually beneficial partnership for the benefit of the peoples.
Bishkek hosts the First European Union-Central Asia Economic Forum in Bishkek. In 2019 the EU and the foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries agreed to hold the First EU-CA Economic Forum.
The main topics of this Forum will be the economic recovery after COVID-19, as well as issues of the business environment and digitalization.
