Bishkek, May 22, 2024. / Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov received a delegation of the Eurasian Development Bank headed by Chairman of the Board Nikolai Podguzov.
The head of the Cabinet expressed readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation with EDB, expressing hope that under the new EDB strategy until 2026, the bank will seek to implement larger projects in the field of renewable energy, improving transport infrastructure within the framework of public-private partnership, supporting the private sector of the country through the provision of concessional funds.
EDB Board Chairman Nikolay Podguzov informed about the bank's activities in the Kyrgyz Republic and noted that last year the volume of operations crossed the threshold of $100 million. US DOLLARS.
Podguzov also noted that in 2024 the bank will continue to focus on the development of project activities in Kyrgyzstan within the framework of megaprojects "Water and Energy Complex of Central Asia" and "Eurasian transport framework", in the field of green energy, public utilities, industry and digitalization.
The parties discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation.
The meeting resulted in the signing of two documents:
- Agreement on providing technical assistance "Acquisition of equipment to restore the capacity of the Bishkek energy system" between the branch of the Open Joint Stock Company "Electric Power Plants" - TPP of Bishkek and the Eurasian Development Bank;
- Agreement on support for the implementation of the project "Construction and maintenance of the bypass road around the city of Uzgen" with the application of PPP mechanism between the Eurasian Development Bank and "Tez Zhol" LLC.
